Carl DePoorter

Carl Allen DePoorter, 75 years old, of Macomb, Michigan passed away on February 21, 2024. Carl was born on August 11,1948 to Alfonso and Gertrude DePoorter (Fries). Carl was the beloved husband of Frances DePoorter (nee Delisi) for 48 years. He was the loving father of Maria (John) Difatta. He was the proud and loving grandfather of Gianna and Lucia. Dear brother of Douglas (Linda), Dianne (Late Patrick), and half-brother, the late Gary. Brother-in-law to Vincent (Katie), Paul, and William (Maria). He was also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carl was proud to be a graduate of Finney High School (’66) and retired from DTE in 2011 after 30 years of service. Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, working on crossword puzzles, sudoku, solitaire, and traveling. He also enjoyed volunteering and serving the Lord at Heritage Church. Carl honored his Belgian heritage and was a proud member of the Belgian American Century Club for 37 years.

Family and friends will remember Carl’s genuine kindness, unwavering support, and infectious laughter. He was a good Christian man whose memory will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
