Brian Richard Bohn, age 56, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 from complications post-surgery in Macomb, Michigan.
He was born November 16, 1967, in Cheboygan, to Richard and Gayle (Rocheleau) Bohn. He was a 1985 graduate of Cheboygan High School. Brian married Shellie Arnold on January 3, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brian served his country over the course of five decades, first with the United States Navy before his retirement in 2013 as a Senior Chief. He spent the last 11 years working with the U.S. Department of Defense. Brian enjoyed spending time with his two sons, Tyler and Tanner, whom he loved dearly. He always had a good time with his extensive list of relatives. He was an avid sports fan, most passionate about Detroit Tigers baseball and Michigan Wolverines football. A true sailor, Brian liked being on or near the water—salted or unsalted. Brian loved going on cruises with Shellie and they finally made their bucket-list goal of touring Aruba in June. Brian could connect with just about everyone he met and could strike up a thoughtful conversation on nearly any topic. Brian was unfailingly kind and measured and brought out the best in those around him.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents Carol and Ray Rocheleau, and Fred and Adeline Bohn. Brian is survived by his wife of 29 years, Shellie, sons Tyler and Tanner, twin sister Brenda (Jeff) Johnson and family Tony (Cassie) and Sydney (Justin), step siblings Brian and Sarah Welke, father- and mother-in-law Larry and Cecilia Arnold, sister-in-law Jennifer and children Alexis, Larissa, and Jamito; aunt Mary Rocheleau and Ron Griggs, uncle Terry (Karen) Rocheleau, cousins Debbie Pond and Shannon (John) Dwyer, Paul (Shelli) France, and Erica and Michael France.
