With profound sadness and overwhelming love, we announce the passing of Brett Dagnese, who left this world far too soon on July 12, 2025, at the age of 22.
Brett was born on August 14, 2002, and from the very beginning, he brought joy, laughter, and light into the lives of those around him. He was the beloved son of Dennis and Carrie Dagnese, the cherished brother of his sister Payton, and a treasured friend to many.
Brett had a soul that was both creative and kind. He was a talented music artist who poured his heart into his work, performing under the name Yung Rager. Releasing his own album was one of his proudest achievements, and his music will forever echo the passion and emotion he carried within him. Brett was also a skilled gamer, winning any game that he set his mind to.
What mattered most to Brett was connection. He found his greatest happiness simply by being with his family and friends. Whether it was sharing a laugh, going for a drive in his beloved car, or spending time cheering on his favorite team—Michigan State— simply because his dad is a Michigan fan. Brett’s joy was contagious, and his presence always made things brighter.
He had the kind of charm that made people feel instantly comfortable. His sense of humor, full of warmth and wit, left a lasting mark on every room he walked into.
Brett was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Marguerite, and we find comfort in knowing they are reunited. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will live on forever in the hearts of his parents, Dennis, and Carrie; his sister, Payton; and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are endlessly grateful for the time we had with Brett. His light will never dim—it will continue to shine through every story, every song, and every shared moment of love.
