Bobby Lynn Finch (also known as Bob or Robert) of Lexington, MI formerly of Shelby Township and Oak Park passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 1, 2022 at the age of 76. Bob was born on July 29th, 1946 in Erin, Tennessee. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Wolframe on December 19th, 1964 at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Hazel Park, MI. They had 3 children together and were blessed with 2 grandchildren. Bob’s family was his life. He spent every moment making their lives better by loving them deeply and whole hearteningly.
Bob was a kind and gentle soul. He wasn’t afraid to show his love towards others. He wore his heart on his sleeve and you always knew where you stood with him. He was a great listener and had the best bear hugs. Bob was a hard worker and owned his own business for more than 40 years. He was a jokester and had a unique sense of humor that had people shaking their heads while crying with laughter. He loved spending time with his family by boating, traveling, listening to music, singing songs around the campfire and playing games such as Holy Crokinole or the Game of Five Thousand. He also liked to read, watch movies, shop and work on diamond painting. This past year he became an avid concertgoer of all types of musical genres and was always up for an adventure. Bob was a collector of a unique set of things such as vinyl records, antiques, bourbon, scotch, hats, t-shirts, flashlights, nuts and bolts, scissors, gift bags and cars. It you needed a tool or gadget, Bob had it. He just needed to find it. He embraced his Native American heritage and collected bald eagle related items. He was a patriot through and through. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was truly one of a kind and our hearts are shattered by his passing.
Bob was the beloved husband of 55 years to the late Karen; proud father of Jennifer Finch (Mitch Purdy), Carrie (Joe) Cognitore and the late Darrell (Julie) Finch. Loving grandfather to Joseph and Claire Cognitore. Adoring son to Jewel Stinson and the late Gilbert Finch. Brother to Linda (Jess) Dilbeck and the late Patricia McLaughlin. Bob is also survived by his niece who he loved like a daughter, Terri (Mike) Campbell, companion Anne Sepos, cherished dogs Guss and Pippin and several nieces and nephews as well as friends he loved as family.
