Bob Traver

Bob Traver, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

Visitation to take place on  Friday, October 15, 2021 from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Military honors and memory sharing to take place at 7:00 PM.

Bob was born on July 25, 1937 to Freddie and Evelyn Traver in Detroit, Michigan. As a young man, Bob served his country in the United States Army with dedication and loyalty. After returning to the United States, Bob met the love of his life, and future bride, Ellen Blandina, at a dance contest. Ellen’s date never showed for the competition, and Bob and Ellen ended up dancing the night away. Together they won the dance competition, and thus began their great love story. Bob and Ellen married on December 18, 1965, and through their 56 beautiful years together raised their only daughter Sandy (or “Kid” as Bob would say). Bob was always a hard worker, and entrepreneur. He owned and operated nine different bars and restaurants in the Macomb County area: Traver’s Tavern, Winner’s Lounge, Traves’s Food and Sprits, Traver’s Cue Club, Bobby T’s, Checkers, RJ’s, Tee’s Bar and Grill, and Bobby T’s. He was known for always being the life of the party, and his charismatic nature drew people to him from all over. It was hard to go anywhere that someone didn’t know Bob Traver. Besides owning and operating many successful bars and restaurants, Bob was also a semi professional bowler, a true pool shark, and a lover of golf. Bob was quite honestly, good at everything he ever put his mind to. He loved his vacations to Las Vegas with his family, traveling there many times over his years. Bob will be forever remembered for his kindness, his great parties, and always having a zest for life. He was a wonderful family man, husband, and the best father. As Bob would say, “Take care of yourself and each other”.

Beloved husband of 56 years of Ellen Traver; cherished father of Sandy Traver; and dear brother of Frank (Loraine) Traver. He was also survived by many loving family, friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his dear siblings Thomas, Edmond, Susie, and Ginger. Also, by his parents Freddie and Evelyn.
