Betty Ruth Szewczul, of Chesterfield Twp., passed away peacefully on December 5, 2021, at the age of 80. Betty joins in heaven her husband of over 30 years, Larry, her son Ron, her mother Vrana Stafford, her sister Elaise Carnoskes, and brother Chuck Stafford. Proud mother of Jim (Angela) Szewczul, Rick Szewczul, Kim (Skip) Rawski, the late Ron (Denise) Szewczul, Lisa (Darin) Driscoll, and Dave (Sue) Szewczul; devoted grandmother of Kristin (Scott) Morris, Jennifer (Nick) Bara, Sarah (Derek) St. Louis, Elizabeth Rawski, Renee (Nick) Sommers, Kayla Szewczul, Alysha Szewczul, Jessica Szewczul, Joshua Szewczul, Ryan Driscoll, Jessica Driscoll, Alexander Szewczul, Savannah Szewczul, Sydney Szewczul, and Madison Szewczul; proud great-grandmother of Madeline, Sadie, Emerson, Margo and Winnie.
Betty was born on November 14, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Joe and Vrana Stafford. Betty was married to the late Larry Szewczul on January 16, 1960, in Detroit. Together they raised their six children in Warren, Michigan. Betty was known for being a strong woman, fun-loving, a great cook, an avid bowler, and her love for country music. She will be remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
Visitation to take place at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. Funeral services will take place at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. Burial to take place at Resurrection cemetery following the services.
