Betty Demeter, age 89, passed away on March 28, 2023.
Betty was born to Michael and Lena DeMaria on May 12, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Delbert, and together they raised two wonderful daughters. Betty loved her family, and loved being a grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her fun-loving great-grandchildren.
Betty enjoyed playing bingo with her husband, playing solitaire, and working on word puzzles. She loved buying flowers for her yard and tending to her (mostly pink-colored) flowers. Betty also loved decorating the inside of her home, and all who entered complimented how beautiful her home looked. She loved Angels! If you visited, you could see them throughout her home. Betty sewed dressed for the dolls for Salvation Army. She still has a few dolls that her great-granddaughters played with whenever they visited. She sewed her daughters’ prom dresses, along with other clothing. She also made ceramic pieces through the years, including Nativity sets for herself and family members. Betty enjoyed watching TV; she could be found watching the Hallmark channel or listening to country music.
Betty was quick-witted and funny, making those she met and her family members laugh-out-loud! She had a presence about her, and anyone who met her, new she was a ‘Special Lady’. Betty had a ‘Big Heart’ and was always concerned about the children of the world. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and, especially those who loved her.
