Barbara Delores MacDougall

Barbara Delores MacDougall, age 85 of Macomb, passed away on February 19, 2023 surrounded by the love of her family.

Barbara was born on January 19, 1938 to Leo and Mary Sampson in Harrison Twp., Michigan. Barbara would meet the love of her life, and future husband, later in her life while on a double date with her daughter Denise. That love would be Robert MacDougall. They would marry on September 4, 1981 in Clinton Twp, the day their families became one. Barbara was the best mother to her children, and was so overjoyed to become a grandmother and great-grandmother later in her life. Her family truly meant the world to Barbara. For over twenty years, Barbara worked for General Motors on the assembly line. She helped pave the way for female assemblers, and was one of the very first hired. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed reading her favorite novels, putting together jigsaw puzzles, walking her neighborhood, and loved to visit her and Robert’s family cottage in Caseville, Michigan. Barbara’s loving and giving heart and spirit will be forever missed by all who knew her.

Beloved wife of Robert MacDougall; loving mother of Denise (Mark) VondenBenken, Steven Schwartz, Heather (Mac) Fraker, Jean (Chris) Bolda, and Kenneth (Tatiana) MacDougall; proud grandmother of 16, and great-grandmother of 8; cherished sister of Lucille Rucha, Joseph Sampson, and Ernest Sampson; dear mother-in-law of Thom Catanese. Barbara is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Barbara is preceded in passing by her loved daughter Dawn Catanese, and parents Leo and Mary Sampson.

Memorial visitation to take place on Saturday, March 4 from 2:00 PM -7:00 PM. Funeral Service at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
