Arthur Prince Jr. (Ace) Obituary

Arthur C Prince Jr (Ace), 73, passed away feeling loved on September 9, 2022.

Art was born January 4, 1949 to the late Arthur & Marjorie Prince in Detroit, MI. Art was a loving and kind man who was always available to help others and loved being surrounded by his family. He was extremely proud when he received his Associates Degree, which was 20 years in the making.  He started attending classes with his sister and finished while attending classes with his daughter.   He had many interests and hobbies, including his classic 1970 Plymouth Satellite that he showed at the Frankenmuth car show each year (amongst many others) and was proud to drive it in the Woodward Dream Cruise. He loved to travel, which included trips to places that he enjoyed most such as Tennessee, Florida, Hawaii, Lake of the Ozarks, The Badlands, Sturgis, and many trips to Vegas so he could enjoy the casinos.  He also took many motorcycles trips including a most memorable drive along the Tail of the Dragon in TN, and enjoyed his time on the boat while he visited his cottage on Lake Ogemaw.   But he said the most incredible place he had visited was the Grand Canyon.  He enjoyed watching his favorite sports on TV, the Lions, boxing and NASCAR, and even got to live it when he received a Richard Petty Driving Experience as a gift for Christmas!   His adored boxing collection includes autographed trunks, a robe and many gloves, with his hero being Muhammad Ali.

In his younger years he was always on a bowling league or in a motorcycle club where he enjoyed spending time with the guys.  Treasured family time included trips to theme parks like Kings Island, Cedar Point, and Disney World, playing cards with his siblings/in-laws, hosting hobo parties and enjoying the makings of haunted houses by his kids and nieces/nephews.  More recently, the grand-kids remember him waking them up with squirt guns whenever they were up north together, on the water riding the gator, and playing dice games together.  His son-in-law shared in the special time he spent meeting Tommy Hearns in his home getting his glove autographed, his step-son remembers taking both their 1970 classic cars to multiple car shows and displaying them side by side, his son is grateful for all the Lions games and Super Bowl parties they attended and his daughter cherishes all those times they stopped and had ice cream every time they were out for appointments. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Proud father to Terry (Andi) Prince, Toni (Michael) Dargis, and step-father of Bobby Bragg.

Cherished grandfather to Kyle, Tyler, & Marissa Dargis, Sydney, Gabriella, & Alexandra Prince, and Landon, & Isabella Bragg.

Loving brother to (the late) James (Gail), Charles, Gary, Debra (Robert), and Diane.

Amazing uncle to many nieces and nephews, dear brother-in-law to Linda (the late Frank), and a wonderful friend to so many people.

Predeceased by his beloved parents Arthur Sr (1985) and Marjorie (Ogle) Prince (2018), dear brother James (2018), and cherished wife Judy (2020).

The family would prefer potted plants in his memory, and invite everyone to join them on Friday morning for donuts prior to the service.

Donations can be made in his honor to the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation ( https://www.parkinsonsmi.org/ )

Knowing he has an eternal home in Heaven brings peace to his family as they know they will see him again.
