Arthur D. Cronin, age 89 of Macomb County, passed away on August 19, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.
Arthur was born on December 19, 1930 to William and Virginia Cronin in Moline, Illinois. After high school, Arthur went to study at Michigan State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance. It was during his time at the university that he joined R.O.T.C., afterwards proudly joining the United States Army. He served his country during the Korean War, and after the war got a job at GMAC. He would go on to retire from GMAC in 1991 after many dedicated years as a branch manager. Arthur met and married the love of his life, Mary Ann, in 1955. They met during a blind date set up by their friends, and it wasn’t long before Arthur proposed to Mary Ann on Belle Isle. Together they raised five children; Brian, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Lori, and Lisa. Family meant everything to Arthur, and he dedicated his life to bring happiness and love to them all. Arthur thoroughly enjoyed his life after his retirement, being able to enjoy more time with family, his loving wife, and opportunities to pursue some of his favorite hobbies; gardening, boating, fishing, and being by the water. Arthur will be forever remembered as a one of a kind, class act.
Arthur is survived by his loving daughters Kathleen (Michael) Schick, Elizabeth (Mark) Sly, Lori (Mitchell) Clauw, and Lisa Abell; proud grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 4.
Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Ann, and dear son Brian.
