Amalia Bartolomeo Obituary

Amalia Bartolomeo of Macomb Township passed away December 31, 2021

Amalia was born on September 28, 1941 in Italy to Giuseppe & Francesca Albano. She was one of 4 children-Her siblings being Tina, Gianni and Paulo .  She met her husband Aldo in Italy.  The two married July 18, 1964 and they started their life together by coming to America to start a family.  Not knowing the language she learned English by watching TV programs such as Sesame Street.  They had two children Aldo (Dawn), & Dana (Matt) and she was also blessed with 8 grandchildren Allyssa (Michele), Alexa, Anthony (Alyssa), Dominic, Vincent, Antonio, Dario, Joseph (Hannah) and two great grandchildren by Allyssa - Marianna & Estelle.

She loved the outdoors, gardening, & landscaping her beautiful home in Macomb Twp. She also was excellent at baking & cooking. Her friends, family, and  her grandchildren can agree to that. Breaded chicken & different desert breads were the top votes!  She struggled losing the love of her life Aldo in 2015 and a little rescue dog Ruby helped to pull her through the loneliness.  She adored Ruby!

During the early years Amalia volunteered at Bruce Collins elementary in Sterling Heights as a lunch room mom as well as in the library. She was known as Mrs. B.

She also worked as a cook for Vince & Joes.

She truly battled her final days and will be missed by her family and friends.
