Robert Alan Zerba, age 66 of Clinton Twp., passed away on December 3, 2021.
Al was born on October 9, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert Zerba and Eileen Dawn Zerba (Stewart). Al graduated from East Detroit High School, where he was on the swim team. After high school, Al attended Central Michigan University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 1979. Al was a AAA sales agent for over 30 years. Al was an incredibly talented musician and played trombone, keyboards, and bass guitar. He played in many beloved bands, including The Wishes, Persuasion, Brookside Jazz, Johnny Trudel, and Misty Blues. Al was not only a gifted musician, but was also a man who could build or fix anything. Al was a beloved father, to his daughters Kristina, Elyse, and Marielle. He loved to help out with the Special Olympics with his daughter Elyse. Al met the love of his life, Janet Giganic, while attending a wedding anniversary party. There was an instant spark, and the rest is history. In Al's free time, he loved golfing with friends, playing racquetball, and slot car racing. Al’s infectious laugh, kind spirit, and loving heart will be forever missed by all who loved him.
Beloved life partner of Janet Giganic; cherished father of Kristina (Eric) Lowrie, Elyse Zerba, and Marielle (Rob Berent ) Zerba; dear brother of Jon (Mary) Zerba, and Richard (Sue) Zerba; proud grandfather of Stephanie Lowrie, and William Lowrie. Al was also survived by many beloved friends, family, and his musician and golf family.
Al joins in heaven his dear parents Robert Zerba and Eileen Dawn Stewart, and his beloved uncle Duane Wiesen.
Visitation to take place on Sunday, December 12 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Funeral service at 3:00PM at the funeral home.
