Nannette Louise Engle

Nannette Louise Engle, age 84, of Clinton Twp., passed away on January 25, 2023.

Nannette was born on January 6, 1939, to Arthur Edward and Esther Lillian Werley in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio. Early in childhood, she moved to Madison Heights, MI, where she attended school and met her soulmate and future husband in 3rd grade. Nan graduated from Madison High School in 1957. Following graduation, she married Jerry Westley Engle in a beautiful celebration on May 31, 1958, at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Royal Oak. Nannette and Jerry would raise two loved children, Sherry and Gregory. Later in life, she would be overjoyed to become a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Nannette was a person that followed her passions and dove right into them. She first found plaster craft, which led her to open a basement shop and many flea markets. Next, it was on to bowling. She was a member of several bowling leagues and loved playing with her family and friends. Finally, she found tennis. She played and worked at Peachtree tennis club for over 20 years before a knee injury ended her tennis career. Tennis would be a passion for many years.

Nannette will be forever remembered by all who loved her.

Beloved husband of Jerry Engle; loving mother of the late Sherry (George) Shaheen and Gregory Engle; cherished grandmother of Michael, Paul, and Samuel; dearest great-grandmother of Aria; and loved sister of Deanna, Gary, Vicky, and the late Denise.

Memorial visitation will occur on Wednesday, February 1, from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Service at 12:30 PM.
