Obituary for Mary Helen Maitland

Mary Helen Maitland, age 65 of Marysville, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2019.

Mary was born on June 16, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to Louis and Helen Dugas. In 1991 she graduated with an Associate’s degree in nursing and went on to have a long career in the medical field. She was a passionate, hardworking nurse and loved her job. In Mary’s free time, she loved to put together jigsaw puzzles, play Jamaican rummy, enjoy crafts, baking and tending to her garden. However, the most important thing in her life was her family and dear grandchildren.

Beloved mother of Scott (Amy) Maitland, Todd (Jennifer) Maitland, and Stacy (Phil) Pokriefka; proud grandmother of Kelsie, Mariah, Nissa, Evelyn, Nathan, and Henry; dearest sister of Baraba, Sue, Sandy, Judy and Louis.

Preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Helen Dugas.

She will be forever missed.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 27 from 1PM – 9PM at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. Funeral Service at 7PM. (Private burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.)

Donations may be made to the Blue Water Hospice Home in Marysville, Michigan.
